Marie-Christine Bureau is a sociologist, researcher at CNRS. After working for serveral years at the Centre d’études de l’emploi, she joined Lise in 2008, CNRS and Cnam’s joint research laboratory.

Her current research interests are situated at the crossroads of sociology of work, sociology of culture, and sociology of public action. Her work focuses on emerging forms of cooperation at the boundaries of employees, but also their interactions between public figures, professionals, and citizens in the field of social intervention. She is the author of L’emploi-jeunes dans la culture, Usages et enjeux d’une politique de l’emploi in 2001 as well as numerous articles published in specialized journals: Chimères, the Revue Française de Socio-Economie, and Vie sociale. Marie-Christine Bureau is interested in the history of social experiments and the relationships between the state, territories, and local politicians as well as the process for requesting social assistance for the handicapped and in the integration of youth.
