Vertigo Forum "Connecting Worlds"

Everything is a network. What is the place of the network in today’s society, innervated by social networks and the very dematerialization of the network that has become virtual? More than ever, the network, in the age of the Internet, this “network of networks”, is at the heart of technological changes and societal issues (surveillance society, omnipresence of social networks, atomization of the individual, actor-network). Since the eruption of the Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of networks in artistic creation has increased as much for the aspects of production as for the form and diffusion of works. The first network is also that of the living, which links species together, generating new forms of “connections”.

Around the exhibition “Réseaux-Mondes” (February 24-April 26, 2021), as part of the cycle Mutations-Créations, three days of symposium will bring together artists, critics, philosophers, etc., around the impact and meaning of networks today.
