Éric Bapteste is Director of Research at the CNRS, specialized in evolutionary biology, and co-director of the team Adaptation, Integration, Reticulation and Evolution, within the UMR ISYEB, in Paris. D. in evolutionary biology and a Ph.D. in philosophy of biology. He studies evolution using network methods, and seeks to understand the establishment and consequences of various interactions, starting with interactions at the molecular level, from which the living world, its organization and its properties emerge. To do so, he collaborates with specialists from many disciplines, in particular graph theorists and philosophers of science. He is the author of three essays for adults on evolution (Tous entrelacés; Les gènes voyageurs and Conflits intérieurs) and a book for children (Tout se transforme !).
